What is the My Possible Self platform?

The My Possible Self platform, available for iOS and Android™ devices, as well as a web-app for all popular browsers, is a collection of processes designed to help improve various aspects of your mental well-being.

Which parts of the My Possible Self application are clinically proven?

In research by the Black Dog Institute, the following modules were found to be clinically effective:

We are always working hard to update and release new content. We will let you know when new content is released via marketing updates and social channels.

Why do I have to be 18 or older to use your app?

Although the My Possible Self process may be useful for people under 18, none of it has been medically proven for this age group. The case-studies are all aimed at people 18 and over.

Why do you need my email address?

As My Possible Self is a paid-for service, we need your email address to let you know that payment has been successful, or if it ever fails for any reason.

We may also contact you in the following circumstances:

  • Password reset emails
  • Account validation
  • To inform you about any significant changes to either the Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, or our Terms to Supply policy
  • Any changes to the amount we will charge you. For any increase in charges we will give you at least three months notice
  • Special offers and marketing updates (requires marketing opt-in by user)
  • Any notifications as required by the GDPR

How safe is my data?

Any data you enter into the app is backed up to our servers. This means you can open the app in any web-browser, or on a different device, and continue with the My Possible Self process.

All data is encrypted before it is stored, and only decrypted when it is requested by your phone or browser.

You backup my data in your servers – can anyone else read it?

The only time your data is decrypted is when your device or web-browser requests it. No one at My Possible Self can decrypt your data.

I’ve forgotten my password – how do I update it?

When you attempt to login, there is a forgotten password link. Choose this and we will email you instructions on how to reset your password.

I want to stop payment, but I want to keep all my data. What can I do?

If you need to stop payment for a while for whatever reason, you can do this from the settings menu. Choose ‘My Subscription’ and select the ‘Pause Payment’ or ‘Cancel payment’ option, depending on your subscription type. You can pause payment for up to twelve months.

Please note that your account will stay active and useable up to your next billing date. So if you are half-way through a month, you can still use the app until your next payment is due.

If your account remains paused for over twelve months, we reserve the right to remove your account and all associated information.

What should I do if I find the application is not working correctly?

As with all technical issues with our platform, please email support@mypossibleself.com. Please send details of the issue, the device you are using (and browser if using the web-app), and, if possible, screen-shots of the issue.

We cannot guarantee a direct reply to your support case, but we will triage issues in order of affected user-base and provide updates when we can.

Note, please do not contact this email address with any mental health issues or any requests for support. Unfortunately we cannot answer any emails that contain anything relating to the process or your mental health. Please contact a medical health professional or speak to someone you trust if you are worried. This site is not intended for individuals in an emergency. If you are in a life threatening situation please immediately dial 999 or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency Centre.

Why am I being told I can’t manage my subscription?

Problems managing your subscription - including cancelling, renewing or amending your plan - may be caused by a number of reasons, for example, there are restrictions on managing your subscription from multiple devices.

Managing your subscription from multiple platforms (iOS, Android and web)

For iTunes and Google Play subscriptions, you can only manage your subscription from a device that is signed into the iTunes or Google Play account you used when you registered.

If you originally registered using a desktop computer, you will also need to manage your subscription from a browser, as debit card, credit card and Paypal subscriptions can’t be amended through the app.

Managing your iTunes or Google Play subscription from somebody else’s device

Although you can log into the My Possible Self app using somebody else’s device, you can only manage your subscription from a device that is signed into your own iTunes or Google Play account.

If your subscription has been provided to you by special arrangement with My Possible Self

When your account is supplied by My Possible Self, it is usually set to run for a specific period of time. This time period begins when you first log in and cannot be amended in the app or web-app.

If your subscription has been provided by a third party, such as your employer or healthcare provider

When your account is administered via a third party, such as your employer or healthcare provider, it will usually run for a set period of time.

When that time period ends, the username and password you have been given will no longer give you full access to all the app’s features.

Managing your subscription when you’re sharing a device with someone else who also has a subscription

If you share a device with someone who has also subscribed to My Possible Self, you are unable to subscribe or manage your account from that device. Please sign up from a device that is logged into your iTunes or Google Play account.

Once registered, you can log in and use the app from a shared device.
